2005 Ford Thunderbird

2005 Ford Thunderbird

The current 2005 Ford Thunderbird is the latest line-up that is supported by the richest histories of any automobile brand of today. The Thunderbird was introduced in 1955 as a 2-seat roadster, and gradually it has evolved into a luxury sports coupe. Designers emphasized a lot on the design theme of the latest line-up to incorporate classic styling features like cues, hood scoop, round headlights, egg-crate grille and porthole windows, in a modern way. The most important change reflected in the present models are the partial interior color packages like Medium Steel Blue and Torch Red, new style aluminum appliqué trim on doors and center stack and new exterior colors, like Bronze and Medium Steel Blue.

2005 Thunderbird Overview

Ford launched the revived Thunderbird that appeared as a 2005 model. Though fully modern underneath, the redesigned model has the resemblance of the original two-passenger T-Bird of 1955 and 1957. The Thunderbird arrived in the market with new back seat map pockets and new aluminum colored appliqué trim on the doors and center stack. The rear-wheel-drive Thunderbird convertible is adapted from the Lincoln LS platform. It gets life from a 3.9-liter V-8 engine and a five-speed-automatic transmission. Just like its long-ago predecessor, the latest Thunderbird is designed for two occupants and it comes with rear-wheel drive.

2005 Ford Thunderbird Interior

The exterior body color of the latest Thunderbird goes well with the interior trimming. There are many interior instruments that make the 2005 line-up more appealing and attractive in nature. Standard interior features include automatic dual-zone air conditioning, leather-trimmed bucket seats, a six-way power driver's seat, a leather-wrapped power tilt/telescoping steering wheel and an in-dash six-CD changer. The models have enough cargo capacity. The trunk capacity is 6.9 cubic feet. In the Premium model, there are heated front seats for extra comfort.

2005 Ford Thunderbird Exterior

The exterior styling of the current Thunderbird has some of the elements from the original Thunderbird. It is quite evident in its egg crate-style grille and round headlamps. But the hood scoop reminds one of the 1961 model. Heritage also is apparent in the quarter windows, designed in a classic porthole-style that can be noticed in the optional 83-pound removable hardtop. The shape and form of the taillights and the basic reverse-wedge are also taken from the past models. The latest 2005 Thunderbird measures 186.3 inches long overall and is mounted on a 107.2-inch wheelbase. Two new exterior colors- Bronze and Medium Steel Blue are available for 2005. A fabric convertible top is standard. The Deluxe model comes with 16-spoke cast-aluminum wheels that hold 17-inch all-season tires, but the Premium model comes with standard seven-spoke chrome-plated wheels.
